HOW TO BE BLESSED

If you are a born again child of God, you have a heritage of blessing by redemption. God saved you, not to enslave you but to bless you. He wants to deck your life with surplus of every good thing. However, blessing does not answer to prayer; blessing is the result of what we practice. Blessing is not what you beg for, it is the reward of obedience, it only responds to your action. Therefore it would be proper to ask, “What must I do to be blessed?”

Walk In The Covenant!
Every blessing of God is delivered on covenant basis and that means there are conditions and terms that must be observed before you can take delivery. Deuteronomy 28:1-2 says, “And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee…” To enjoy God's blessings you must follow His commandments diligently; listen to His word, delight in it and respond to it promptly in order to fulfill the conditions for the blessings you desire. You can't take God's word with levity and expect to be blessed by Him. In Joshua 1:8 He said, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.” That is what it takes to be blessed. Get the book of the law, meditate on it, be observant and ensure that you are practitioner of every principle of scriptures. As you do that, you begin to enjoy God's blessings. So, showers of blessings is available to all, but you only become a partaker by your choice to hearken diligently to the voice of the Lord your God. Receive grace for diligent obedience, in Jesus name!

Be Faithful!
Proverbs 28:20 says, “A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.” The baseline for blessing is faithfulness. You cannot be faithful and not be blessed. Show me a faithful man today and I will present to you a man who will be blessed tomorrow. Prayer does not bring blessing, faithfulness is the key to blessing. God does not bless the volume of your prayer, neither does He bless the position you occupy, He simply blesses you in response to your faithfulness in all your dealings.

Hebrews 3:1-2 says, “…Consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.” Moses was blessed because he was faithful. Jesus also was blessed because He was faithful. His faithfulness was so outstanding that of the twelve disciples God gave Him, none was lost except the son of perdition (John 7:12). May God find you faithful and approve you for His showers of blessings this season.
